Consuming carrots (and other oxygenating vegetables) before, during and after a flight reduces jet lag so much, honestly. I tried this after chatting to an air stewardess about my problems with jet lag and tried it the next time after she recommended it and found that it really did help relieve my symptoms of bad jet lag.

What You'll Need

  • Carrots
  • Water
  • Or carrot juice (fresh pressed is best)

What You'll Do

  • 1. Within 12 hrs before flight drink 0.25 - 0.5 liters of fresh carrot juice. 2. If possible drink 0.25 l of fresh carrot juice on the flight. Alternatively, bring a bag of chopped carrots to snack on. Also only eat raw vegetables or light other vegetable based meals. 3. Avoid airplane food. Avoid. Avoid.
  • 4. Drink 2 liters for 5 hrs of flying. 5. Drink 0.25 - 0.5 liters of fresh carrot juice (or beetroot, or green juice) within 12 hrs of landing.

Tips & Warnings

  • Carrot juice spillage on clothes can stain. Keep it classy. Also can give you an orange mustache so have a napkin handy.

This actually really does work. I was so shattered after a long business trip and munching on carrots during the flight made me feel normal again pretty quickly.
