Heart burn normally happens for a reason and is your body's way of telling you something is irritating it. This could be something in your diet, such as regular intake of spicy foods, foods high in acidity such as citrus fruits and those presenrved in vinegar or frequent caffeine and alcohol consumption. It could also be caused something in your lifestyle, such as receational drug use. Constant heart burn is a cause for concern as the amount of acid in your gastrointenstinal system may eventually cause errosion of the thin gastrointenstinal lining causing ulceation or bleeding. Therefore consider you diet and lifestyle; do you have any of the risk factors mentioned above in your diet or lifestyle? If so, try cutting it out for a month and see how you feel. From experience the heartburn usually reduces or disappears completely.
