Start the process of winding down for bed
Start winding down for bed at least an hour before you plan to go to sleep. That means quit reading emails on your phone or laptop, especially work related emails at least an hour before bed! Turn off the TV and engage in a gentle, relaxing activity such as reading, meditating or writing in your diary, this will give you a more gradual and less abrupt routine of winding down and getting into the mindset for a peaceful, undisturbed sleep.
