Most athletes know that rest after exercise is essential, but many still feel guilty for taking a day off. The body repairs itself in the time between workouts. Overtraining can actually weaken the strongest athletes. Rest allows your muscles time to adapt. Training stimulates the muscle, nutrition and rest allows the muscle to grow. So if you want your New Year fitness resolution to show maximum results enjoy a day off every now and then to relax! Sounds like a good regime to me!
