Do you ever feel like your weekends go by in a blink of an eye ? One of the reasons could be that most of us are in a state of perpetual “mind wandering” which can lead to profound unhappiness (you know that Sunday night blues) Developing skills to bring our mind back to the present moment can help us live every day to the fullest instead of living for the weekends. . I am certainly not a mindfulness expert but I’ve noticed that when I pay attention to my surroundings and how I feel, I am able to experience things differently and show more compassion towards myself. To be a bit more concrete, most of us have been conditioned to hate Mondays. Therefore every Monday we drag our feet to work and get stressed or irritated by everything. But if we paused for a second, took a deep breath and really thought about all the reasons ( some silly ones sometimes) why we hate Mondays, our perception could change completely. At the end of the day, we can’t stop the waves but we can learn to surf (J. Kabat-Zinn) 🤟🏽
