In Ayurvedic medicine, nutmeg is known for its heavy qualities and for dulling your system. It has a calming effect when consumed in small doses, so it's ideal if you drink a little with warm milk just before going to bed and trying to sleeping. A number of ancient medicinal practices credit nutmeg for its sleep-inducing and de-stressing effects, so it might work for you too.

What You'll Need

  • Nutmeg
  • Nutmeg powder
  • Warm milk

What You'll Do

  • Add a 1/4 of a teaspoon of nutmeg powder to a cup of warm milk.
  • Drink before getting to bed to help with drifting off to sleep.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are lactose intolerant, you can opt for a nut milk for this recipe.
