How to Feel Confident Before Attending or Speaking at An Event
I'm a practitioner and have personally suffered with feelings of shyness. I find new social situations stressful, but they are important in my work and I have worked hard to combat the stress. I will share 3 simple tips to relax the body and help you to feel more confident.
What You'll Need
- A body!
- Essential oils eg lime, wild orange or spearmint.
What You'll Do
- Adopt the superwoman pose. Before you get to the event, spend 5 minutes standing in the 'superwoman pose'. This is where the legs are apart and hands on the hips. It helps to connect with pelvic energies, which are important for our personal power. Stand like this for 2-5 minutes.
- Use 2 drops of an uplifting essential oil such as lime, wild orange or spearmint. The more you use this with the intention of feeling confident, the more you anchor the feeling you wish to create.
- Widen your gaze. With stress, our visual field narrows. Simply change your gaze to the outer corners of your eyes and you will feel more at home in your environment.
