7,11 Breathing to Calm the Fight or Flight Response
To quickly calm the body and nervous system down and reduce the fight or flight response of stress and anxiety, breathe in for a quick count of 7 and then out for 11 counts. As you breathe in, allow your belly to expand and as you breathe out let the belly go down again. It doesn't matter how quickly or slowly you breathe, it's the ratio that's important.
