Kool 'n' Soothe patches
I've been on Sumatriptan to treat migraines in the past and describe them as my miracle cure, but since becoming pregnant, they are not recommended. After my migraines intensified, I decided to try paracetamol which didn't really make much difference. Then I saw cold patches in the pharmacy that claimed to get rid of migraines fast. I doubted the effectiveness but they really do work. I usually slap one on the offending side, have a lie down for an hour or so and the pain subsides. This definitely is my new miracle cure! The throbbing pain of migraines and headaches seem to just lessen gradually but effectively once these patches are on so you really do feel like they work miracles.
What You'll Need
- Cold head patches such as Kool n' Soothe. You can buy them in a lot of pharmacies (including Boots or a Superdrug own brand)
What You'll Do
- Pre buy the patches as when you have the migraine you will not feel like going to the shops
- When you feel the migraine coming, put one of the patches on your head.
- Remember it isn't an instant 'cure' but give it time and really does help.
