Taking 1-3mg of slow-release melatonin before bed can help with sleep-wake cycles and day-time fatigue over time. You can combine it with herbs and herbal remedies for best effect since single herbs are not very effective. Many people prefer to opt for plant medicine these days however it's always recommended to speak with your GP before trying anything new. Also, it's important to bear in mind that many medicines often work better when they are combined with herbal remedies rather than either on their own.

What You'll Need

  • Passion-flower
  • Chinese skullcap
  • Valerian
  • Hops flower
  • Lemon balm
  • Another natural supplement ingredient I also like for sleep with no side effects and can be used along with the melatonin and other herbs above is called casein hydrolysate.

What You'll Do

  • If taking low-dose melatonin, it's best to mix with other herbal sleep-supporting ingredients, like the ones listed here.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always consult your GP before trying any new supplements or herbal/plant medicine. Also, avoid casein hydrolysate if you have a true milk allergy.
