Stress is a lifestyle condition and an epidemic in most western societies. It has a long list of negative physiological, emotional and behavioural symptoms. Meditation has been proved in countless studies to be able to reduce anxiety, help against perceived stress and lower cortisol levels (the body's stress hormone). Getting a meditation habit will make you more resilient to stress and give you a greater sense of psychological flexibility, being able to tackle life in a more efficient and productive way. I recommend starting with 10 minutes in the morning and using any of the available meditation apps like headspace or calm. Do this every day and you will feel the change yourself

  • Meditation app
  • A quite place
  • Optional meditation cushion

What You'll Do

  • Download a meditation app like headspace or calm
  • Wake up 15 minutes earlier than you normally would
  • Find a quiet place to sit and meditate first thing in the morning, before performing other activities
  • Try doing this for 8 weeks and see what happens - you will probably want to continue for the rest of your life
