Meditation has been shown to improve stress levels and prevents dementia. It has also been shown to decrease anger, anxiety and depression. And with today's stressful, high-paced life, who doesn't need more peace, relaxation and contentment?

What You'll Need

  • Nothing! You can be sitting in your favourite chair, standing in line at the grocery store or walking into work - mindful moments do not have to interfere with your daily routine. Instead, they enhance your happiness and contentment while decreasing your stress levels.

What You'll Do

  • Mindfulness doesn't have to be complicated. Simply concentrate on your breathing - in, pause, out, pause, in, pause, out, pause - is being mindful. Noticing the breeze on your face as you walk the dog, the warm water running over your hands as you do the dishes or the birds chirping in the distance are all mindful moments - meant to reduce stress and improve anxiety.
  • Mindfulness does not mean meditating in an uncomfortable position for hours on end. Sitting in your favourite chair, closing your eyes, noticing your breathing and any 'constricted' areas in your body are all ways to practice mindfulness comfortably in your day-to-day life. Doing this for only 2-10 minutes each day will produce benefits!
