If youve tried a whole bunch of things, but your headaches keep on coming, you might be dealing with histamine intolerance. Histamine, a naturally-occurring chemical, can produce a variety of symptoms (headaches being chief among them) in certain individuals. Some foods are higher in histamine than others and should be avoided when trying to pinpoint whether histamine is the cause of your symptoms.

  • Avoid high-histamine foods such as avocado, citrus, nuts, chocolate, beans/pulses for at least three weeks
  • After three weeks, add in a single high-histamine food ONE at a time, over a period of a week to "test" which foods you're most sensitive to
