Sometimes when we get sick it is our bodies way of telling us to slow down and look after ourselves. A healthy diet and lifestyle are the best preventatives to any ailments and disease. Giving ourself the right treatment within 48 hours of symptoms developing is the key to prevent complications and reduce the duration of the flu. Colds and flu are caused by viral and bacterial infections however the flu is much worse than a cold. A cold will typically last up to 3 days with less symptoms, where as a flu will typically last up to 5-7 days with worse symptoms. Untreated, flu can progress to pneumonia, bronchitis, ear and sinus infections. Antibiotics can build to antibiotic resistance as well as poor gut health. Treating ourselves naturally can help strengthen our immune systems and build antibodies to prevent other diseases, ailments and viruses. The flu can spread when an infected person sneezes or coughs near you, by touching a common object like a telephone etc. Plenty of rest, consumption of fluids and natural medicines are vital and can majorly help you to treat the flu. Treating the root cause is key here so look into nature for those that are natural antibacterials and antivirals such as garlic, thyme, turmeric, ginger, olive leaf extract, tea tree oil. Once we are treating the root cause we can begin to treat the symptoms: Sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, high fever, aching muscles and joints, headaches, dry cough, chills, sweats, fatigue and nasal congestion are common flu symptoms. Follow these steps strictly for efficient healing, all the supplements mentioned below can be found on Amazon and delivered straight to your door:

Drinking this throughout the day as much as you can (8-10 mugs a day) will dramatically help and is one of the first and most important things to do when you feel the symptoms of a flu coming on. Make a big batch. Take 1 whole piece of ginger & peel it, place it in a blender with a litre of bottled water and blend it. Pour it into a pot, add 2 tablespoons of dried thyme and bring to a boil, then allow simmering on low heat for 20 minutes at least until the water is brown. Strain through a sieve and enjoy.
