Anxiety can bring on fidgeting and trembling; If this happens to you then take a couple of deep breaths, breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth. Make sure your exhalation is nice and slow. As you exhale think the words calm, heavy and restful to yourself, allowing the meaning of the words to sink into your mind. Thinking this to yourself whilst practicing slow steady breathing calms your nervous system and can be used to reduce bad habits such as nail biting. You can use this technique whenever you need to.
