For many people accepting compliments feels awkward and uncomfortable. We're likely to butt them away, rebuff them or belittle them to not appear arrogant. For example, when someone compliments you on your dress you might say ' This old thing' or 'you'll never guess it was just £3 from Primark!' Next time someone compliments you simply pause, smile and say thank you. That's it. You might want to repay the compliment and that's OK as long as you've had time to process the one paid to you first!
