In order to get back to a state of natural breath, you need to align your breathing with your respiratory system. If you thought these were the same thing, do not worry, as you are not alone. Respiration is a brainstem reflex: it works perfectly and automatically on its own; learn to trust that. As soon as you have grown accustomed to trusting your body meet its own perfect capabilities, you’ll master the ability to let go and surrender yourself to natural and open breath.
