Rest days are important
As a regular runner, I can vouch that rest days are so important as part of your exercise recovery. On my rest days I usually do several of the following; Go for a short walk, as I sometimes find it hard to do nothing! Go and get a sports massage to stretch out the muscles, work on those knots and relieve the built-up tension. I take a magnesium supplement when I'm in an intense period of training which helps alleviate muscle soreness. Do some light stretching or yoga, this can just be at home and not in a class. Invest in a foam roller!!
