I read this in Women's Health Magazine and they said that a recent study was done because constipation is a common complaint nowadays, and they discovered that more women get affected than men. So researchers decided to look into alternative ways to ease that plugged-up feeling besides eating more fiber-rich foods and scoring more exercise and they found that pregnant women are always told to massage their perineum (that specific area) regularly to help relax the area so they deduced that this self massage might help relax the bowels as well for people who suffer from constipation regularly.
