You might not feel like being active when suffering from a headache, but going outside and getting some fresh air if possible, or at least walking around a bit, can help to loosen up taught muscles that cause headaches. Moving around will also distract you from the pain caused by the headache.

What You'll Do

  • Try to exercise on a regular basis, and warm up and cool down before strenuous exercise. Activities such as yoga will also help to keep your mind focused and stretch your muscles to help drop tension, and in doing so drop tension-headaches.
  • Don't wait until the headaches comes on before moving and exercising - use exercise as a preventative technique by spending at least 30 minutes of every day in physical activity.
