I am normally out of action for several days if a bad migraine takes hold. I find that the only way to prevent a migraine from getting really bad is to take action as soon as possible. (I suffer from migraine with aura (flashing lights), so I normally have good warning).

What You'll Need

  • Aspirin
  • Sparkling Water

What You'll Do

  • Take 2-3 aspirin with sparkling water (the bubbles in the water help to get the aspirin round your system more effectively than still water).
  • Then try to sleep it off in a dark room.

Tips & Warnings

  • Obviously read the accompanying warning leaflet that comes with over the counter drugs before taking them.
