If you suffer from really dry, cracked hands or feet during the cold months (I know I do - flaky skin anyone?), the best tip my friends and I do is to slather Vaseline all over, then cover with thin gloves or socks. It might sound a bit squishy or uncomfortable, but it really does work and if you're sick of feeling all dry and scaly then this home remedy might work for you too! A friend of mine had really dry hands last winter and so she started spreading the word about her night time skincare routine. So as soon as I started to feel like I was drying out all over, I bought Vaseline and those thin gloves from Boots and spread the product all over my hands and then put on the gloves. By morning, I felt all moisturised and soft again!

What You'll Need

  • Vaseline
  • Gloves
  • Socks

What You'll Do

  • Take a hot shower
  • Rub Vaseline all over your feet
  • Wash hands!
  • Put on a comfortable pair of thin socks
  • Prepare thin gloves and use a small amount of Vaseline on your fingers and hands
  • Wear thin gloves
  • Go to bed!

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure to wash your hands after the first two steps. You don't want to get the slime stuff everywhere.

Oooh interesting - never heard of this before but seeing as I'm basically flaking like a snake this winter I might give it a go! Thanks for sharing
