Best breathing technique for panic attacks
One of the world's most respected Yoga Teachers, and my mentor, Max Strom recommends a fantastic breathing exercise to help with panic attacks. It is called the 4, 7, 8 breath. Also recommended by Dr Andrew Weil, this breath has the added bonus of helping you to fall asleep when you're suffering from insomnia.
What You'll Need
- A quiet space where you can sit and breathe.
What You'll Do
- Inhale for a count of 4
- Hold the breath in for a count of 7
- Exhale for a count of 8
- Repeat this cycle about 4 times
Tips & Warnings
- If you want to know more, I highly recommend Max's books "A Life Worth Breathing" and "There is no App for Happiness".
