Sweet Treat - Liquorice
When we get stressed most of us reach for the cookie jar or some other unhealthy sweet treat to comfort us. Time to look to liquorice. This healthy sweet treat is great for calming the nervous system aiding the adrenal glands which are linked to the 'fight' or 'flight' response, and it levels out blood sugar so to reduce cravings which ultimately send our systems out of whack. I find it a great snack between teaching classes. Natural liquorice can be found in most health food shops and large supermarkets - my favourite being 'Natural Panda'.
