Although not strictly a cure, it has been provisionally shown that people who have a higher intake of vitamin C through foods and supplementation (if required) before they get ill find that the duration of their colds are shorter with slightly less severe symptoms. Our bodies don't store vitamin C so it's important to keep the diet topped up through regular portions of fresh, wholesome food.

What You'll Need

  • Stock up your fridge with foods rich in vitamin C like watercress, peppers, citrus fruits, broccoli, squash and dark green leafy veg for example
